VIOLIN & VIOLA LESSONS
Everyone has the ability to learn to play an instrument and enjoy the benefits of playing music. Margrit teaches violin to children and adults and has many students who she has helped to progress through the various stages of their musical development. She also specialises in coaching violists at the highest level for orchestra playing and auditions.
She is proud to say all her students taking grades have passed with excellent results.
“I’m dedicated to meeting each student’s individual needs and encouraging their musical independence and stylistic diversity.”
Particularly for children in the early years of learning, Margrit creates an imaginative, playful approach to learning about technique, posture and movement. And, while she has an extensive library of classical music to work with, she also teaches different styles such as Bluegrass, Klezmer and Folk, and encourages students to bring music they are interested in learning – whatever the genre. As well as developing ownership of the pieces they learn, this helps students to broaden their musicality.
Margrit teaches several days a week from her private studio in South West London. She also organises regular student concerts for friends and family to attend. These give students a great sense of accomplishment and are very popular.
